My dream is that people would realize,
That they cannot always trust their eyes.

They believe what they see is absolute truth.
But to think this way is simply uncouth.
Often you have seen people judge one another,
The same way that they judge a book by its cover.

Those muscular guys could only be jocks.
That kid was a geek because he read about rocks.
And that jock would mock the geek who was meek.
The jock teased him and called him a freak.

People often force a type of conformity
Onto someone with a unique personality.
Can one of you say that you do not first react
To the way a person looks or how they act?

Take me for example, if you would please.
Many of you probably just thought "Oh jeez,"
"There are more interesting things made of cork.
This guy is weird, he is such a dork."

And at this point, you are mistaking
My personality for the one I am faking.
Very few people actually know the real me
You only think of what you can see.

Now after this little speech that came from my mind,
Maybe everyone in the world should be blind.
Or possibly instead of such a drastic measure,
We could get to know people just a little bit better.

My dream is that you would realize,
That you cannot always trust your eyes.
